The Software Development Kit (SDK) IDS peak includes programming interfaces and software tools necessary for operating and programming your IDS industrial cameras. Easy-to-understand convenience functions ensure an intuitive programming experience, quick and easy setup and versatile application options for your industrial cameras. As a matter of course, IDS peak also supports your proven uEye existing cameras (match code "UI-"), which you can therefore now also use in combination with the new uEye+ cameras.

The manual is divided into several sections created for different target groups.

Beginners in image processing
You will find general information on the basics of camera technology and image processing in the A: Camera basics section.

Users of uEye+ cameras (U3/GV models)
In the B: Operation uEye+ cameras section, you learn how to connect uEye+ cameras and how to operate them. You can also refer to this section for model-specific hints of your uEye+ camera (U3/GV models).
In the camera feature reference you find the features of the SFNC standard supported by IDS industrial cameras, as well as manufacturer-dependent features. Have a look at this section to use your camera in its full performance range.

Programmers of camera applications
In the C: Programming with IDS peak section, you find information about programming your own applications with IDS peak API and IDS peak IPL. The descriptions are supplemented by numerous code examples for the programming languages C, C++, C#, and Python.
Learn how to use CMake to create projects for Qt Creator or Visual Studio.
Consider the basic principles when working with IDS peak. This makes programming easier for you, and you can solve error cases more easily or even avoid them.
Read, for example, how to open a camera and parameterize a camera or how to configure the connection.
In the transport layer feature reference you will find the features of the GenTL SFNC standard supported by IDS cameras, as well as manufacturer-dependent features.

Users of uEye cameras (UI models)
In the D: Operating uEye cameras with IDS peak section, you find information for operating uEye cameras (UI models) with IDS peak. The Notes for usage section provides information on limitations that currently still need to be observed.

AI-assisted image analysis with IDS peak
In the E: AI-assisted image analysis with IDS peak section, you will learn how to perform AI-assisted image analysis with IDS peak.
You can load and run neural networks with IDS peak. The prerequisite is that the neural networks have been trained specifically for use in IDS peak. You can create these comfortably and easily in the AI Vision Studio IDS lighthouse by uploading training images, annotating the images, and training a neural network.

How to install IDS peak is described in the ReadMe for Windows and ReadMe for Linux. You find further information on your specific camera model, such as CAD data, declarations of conformity or the camera manual, at https://en.ids-imaging.com/downloads.html. You can find the right software, firmware and documentation for your product by model name, item number or detailed search.
